HHDUGC Competitions

This page is intended to give you a brief view of the Club, Team and Individual Competitions that we run throughout the season.
To the side of this introduction, you will find direct links (Quick Links) to our competition documents (flyers) which further describe each of the competitions, alongside which you will see both individual and block (club/team) entry forms which can be downloaded and completed for submission as stated for each competition.
Also, to the right-hand side, there is a further menu which will take you directly to the individual page for each competition where date, venue draw and results information will be posted throughout the season.

Nine Hole Clubs Championship

Venue: Ryburn Golf Club.
Date: Sunday 3rd May 2020

Competition Format – Stroke play over 18 hole
Each Member Club whose course has nine or fewer holes may enter a team of three Players with a playing handicap of 24 or below.


Handicap Team Championship


Venue: Halifax Bradley Hall Golf Club.       
Date: Tuesday 17th May 2020

Competition Format – 18 holes Strokeplay. Each Member Club may enter one team of 4 Players.
Handicap limits are:

  • 1 player not less than 6 handicap
  • 1 player not less than 9 handicap
  • 1 player not less than 12 handicap
  • 1 player not less than 15 handicap

Scratch, Handicap and Junior Foursomes Qualifier

Venue:  Bradley Park Golf Club.
Date: Sunday 7th June, 202
Competition Format – Foursomes Strokeplay over 18 holes with pairs playing off scratch in one category, and with half the combined handicap allowance for the Handicap and Junior categories.

The top 8 available scores in each category (scratch, Handicap and Junior) will qualify for the Foursomes Matchplay.


Junior Team Championship

Venue: Queensbury Golf Club.
Date: Sunday 14th June 2020

Competition Format – Stroke play over 36 holes

The team that returns the lowest aggregate gross score will hold the Founders Trophy for a year.

The Team that returns the lowest aggregate NET score (maximum of 12 Hcp) will hold the Scratch Team Championship Net trophy for a year.

Seniors Championship

Venue: Bradley Park Golf Club
Date: Tuesday 2nd June, 2020
Competition Format – Stroke play over 18 holes Entry is limited to Players who are aged 55 or over on the day of the competition. The definition of Players is set out in Rule 5 of the Rules relating to competitions and matches. 
Dependant on the venue, entry may be limited to such a number as the Executive Committee determine If the number of entries exceeds any such limit a ballot will be held to decide which of the higher handicap Players are to be excluded.
The Player returning the lowest gross score will be ’The Seniors’ Stroke Play Champion’ and will hold the ‘Championship Trophy’ for a year.
The top 8 available gross scores will be entered into the Seniors Matchplay Championship.

Individual Stroke Play Championship

Venue: Crosland Heath Golf Club.
Date: Sunday 5th July, 2020

Competition Format – Stroke play over 36 holes

Entry will be limited to 81 Players with handicaps of 12 or below at the time of entry

The leading 16 Players who return the lowest gross scores will qualify for the ‘Match Play Championship’.
