Nine Hole Clubs Championship
We had gorgeous, fine weather for the above championship at Elland with tremendous hospitality as always, the course was in superb condition, with one player stating that he had never seen a course in such great condition for this time of year. Additionally, for the first time in many years, we had all 11 eligible clubs enter and play.
We also had some great scores and some not so great. With the revised format of the best two from three 18-hole scores to count we had an exciting finish between two rival clubs in Elland and Castlefields, with the latter coming out on top by one stroke after a count back.
RESULTS
The winners were Castlefields with a net score of 138, count back 67.
Represented by Damian Roebuck, Shaun Harris, and Richard Badrock.
Runners up were Elland golf club with a net score of 138, count back 68.
Represented by Ashley Haywood, Paul McCormick and Martin Reddy.
The best individual gross score of 67 was Scot Minto of Hanging Heaton golf club.
Best individual net score of 67 went to Patrick McAllister of Longley Park golf club for the second year running.
